The Magic of Lourdes Live

Today, the Knights and Dames of the Order of Malta start their first full day in Lourdes washing the feet of the Malades on the pilgrimage.  Afterwards, they will take the Malades to the baths to experience the healing water of Our Lady of Lourdes.

I remember a remarkable story my Mr. Knight shared a few years ago about the gift of synchronicity in the baths and the power of Our Lady of Lourdes.  At that time, a 10 year old boy, Matthew, was part of the Order of Malta pilgrimage.  Matthew, who is not able to walk and uses a wheel chair to get around, is a true “light up your life” kind of child.  Just when Matthew was exciting the baths and visible to the delegation waiting for him, an unexpected group of sweet, french school children walked by singing “Ave, Ave, Ave Maria.”  My Mr. Knight said, “we heard the angels sing as Matthew walked out.  Everyone experienced God’s presence in that moment; it was unreal.”
